The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in coordination with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), held the Promotional Recruitment of Nurses for the Federal Republic of Germany and Special e-Registration Activity at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall on September 29, 2022.
Aiming to fill the shortage in their healthcare workforce, the Federal Republic of Germany is hiring 600 Filipino registered nurses to work in their partner hospitals and elderly care through a G2G, or government-to-government recruitment scheme under the Triple Win Project (TWP).
“It is really my dream to become a nurse abroad,” said one of the hopeful applicants, Vanessa Laynesa of Bagumbayan Sur, Naga City. “But despite wanting to become one, I never had the opportunity or the access to fulfill it,” she continued.
When Laynesa heard of the posting through the CamSur PESO, she was encouraged and decided to take the opportunity to apply. According to her, as a nurse employee in the Philippines for the last decade, she also wanted to try something new. It was also an added reassurance for her that it was a government-to-government recruitment, giving her and her fellow applicants the assurance that it is safe and legitimate.
The position offers a starting monthly salary of €2,300 or equivalent to P132, 410. Applicants must be a Filipino registered nurse with at least one (1) year related professional experience in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and/or care institutions or private duty nurse. They are also required to have German language proficiency of B1 or B2 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or should be willing to undergo German language training in the country for free under the TWP to attain B1 level. Submission of application was only up until September 30, 2022.
Registered nurses from Camarines Sur took the one-day opportunity to apply during the recruitment. Many of them are hopeful that they might be qualified and be granted the chance to achieve their dream of working abroad.
The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, through the CamSur PESO, has remained consistent in providing its people with various job and employment opportunities. As of press time, job fairs and special recruitment activities are being conducted throughout the province to bring these opportunities closer to the people.
