GMVCC-Libmanan holds first Graduation Ceremony

“The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur believes that Education is the best equalizer,” said Governor Luigi Villafuerte as he began his Graduation Messgae for the Governor Mariano E. Villafuerte Community College (GMVCC)-Libmanan’s Graduation ceremony. “Our goal is to uplift the lives and to create a better future for our youth, community, and entire country. The Provincial Government, I believe, should invest in ample educational programs and projects that promote effective and inclusive education for all,” Governor Villafuerte added.

On July 6, 2022, the GMVCC-Libmanan, located at Barangay Potot, Libmanan, Camarines Sur, held its first Commencement Exercises for the Academic Year 2021-2022 at the Libmanan Cultural Center. The pioneering batch of graduating students is comprised of 112 students who received their diplomas with a degree in Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education Major in Automotive, Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education Major in Electrical, and Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education Major in Electronics.

Among the euphoric and proud new graduates of the school is 25-year old Cum Laude, Electronics major John-John G. Belaro from Barangay Taban-Fundado, Libmanan, who received a number of awards during the Graduation. Sharing his college journey in GMVCC-Libmanan, he shared, “Kan enot na paglaog ko igdi sa GMVCC-Libmanan, dae ko aram kun ano an mangyayari sakuya. Pero, dahil sa pursigido akong makatapos asin makatabang sa sakuyang mga magurang, nagpursige ako asin nag-adal tultol,” he added.

Belaro shared that the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has had a great impact to them as students. But while they struggled, their resilience and determination to fulfill their dreams enabled them to turn their struggles into strength.

“Dakulang pasasalamat ko man sa Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, asin kina Congressman Lray asin Governor Luigi Villafuerte ta kung bako dahil sa tindog nindong eskwelahan igdi sa Libmanan, dae makukulayan an samuyang mga pangarap”, Belaro gratefully said. He also expressed his gratitude to their teachers and all the faculty and non-faculty staff of the GMVCC-Libmanan for guiding them as they reach their dreams.

At present, the Provincial Government has put up and manages five provincially-managed colleges in the Province of Camarines Sur, namely Baao Community College, GMVCC-Garchitorena, GMVCC-Siruma, GMVCC-Libmanan, and GMVCC-Tinambac.

Another achiever of the batch is 29 year-old Automotive major Christian Q. Gorubat from Barangay Libod 2, Libmanan. He is the President of the school’s Supreme Student Council, and along with his other awards, was the only graduating student who received the Governor Vincenzo Renato Luigi Villafuerte Leadership Award. Soon, Governor Luigi’s administration will open up more GMVCC campuses in other parts of the province in order to provide the opportunity for free quality tertiary education to more youth in Camarines Sur.
