Over 100 applicants attends at Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan Job and Business Fair in Pasacao

Through the efforts of the Local Government Unit of Pasacao, and in partnership with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, the Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayam Job and Business Fair transpired on June 24, 2022 at New Evacuation Center, Sta. Rosa Del Norte, Pasacao. Around 2,600 job vacancies were opened by the local and overseas agencies, and over 100 applicants attended the job fair and made most of the opportunity to meet the employers face-to-face as they applied for the position they desire and deem suitable for their talents, skills, knowledge, and credentials.

With the COVID-19 pandemic restricting mobility and discouraging large gatherings, there were no face-to-face job fairs for two years. This is the first time under the new normal that community-based job fairs were once again conducted with the aid of the CamSur Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

The Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair is one of the program initiatives of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that is being implemented in the province through collaboration with the CamSur PESO and local government units. This program primarily aims to provide employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurship to cater to all types of jobseekers including returning OFWs and K-12 graduates.

“First time kong maka-attend ng ganitong program ng government. He is a first time job seeker who took the opportunity to apply in various local and overseas agencies at the job fair.

As a first time job seeker, attending the job fair made an impression on him and widened his perspective of joining the workforce.

For 32- year old Johnyson Reabad of San Francisco, Baao, travelling to Pasacao from Baao for the job fair proved worth it as he was hired-on-the-spot as a merchandizer for Kuwait during the job fair by Lead Resources Management Corp.

Johnyson was a former OFW and among those who had to go home after losing his job because of the pandemic.

More than 15 local and overseas agencies were invited at the TNK Job and Business Fair which include EarthSmart Human Resource Phils. Inc., Placewell International Services Corp., Lead Resources Management Corp., Altaserve Inc., Lass Automotive, Sanford Marketing Corp. (Savemore Pili), Global Mode, Addeven Manpower Solutions Inc., Gateway Visa Solution, PEDSCOR/ PTDI, Consuelo Chito Madrigal Foundation, Sutherland Philippines, Olivan Hardware Depot Inc., MTC- Transport, MTC Distribution, Milaor Trading Corp., and Stance Sales Distribution.

Aside from the employment opportunities being offered, local government agencies such as the Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), PAG-IBIG Fund, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Southeast Asian Institute of Computer Technology (SEAICT) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) were also present to entertain inquiries as well as to offer and provide their services, thus, establishing a one-stop shop at the event that is convenient for both the local residents and applicants who wish to avail of their services and process essential documents.

With the TNK Program and the collaborative efforts of local and national agencies involved in its implementation, more employment and business opportunities were brought closer to every Camarinense, with the ultimate goal to provide solutions to reduce, if not eradicate totally, the grave impact of pandemic in employment and livelihood.
