As the world learns to live with the new normal state amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, under Governor Miguel Luis “Migz” Villafuerte, has come up with the idea of producing its very own vaccination cards that has durable quality and is secured from possible falsification.
The Provincial Government has launched and started its distribution of vaccination cards among its inoculated constituents. CamSur is the very first in the Philippines to have PVC type vaccination card making it durable, waterproof, and scratch-free.
“In these times that proof of vaccination is required before entering establishments such as malls and restaurants, having your vaccination card on the ready is really necessary. Now that my old vaccination card has been replaced with this PVC type card, I no longer have to worry of having it crumpled in my wallet,” said Christian Nanale from San Jose, Pili who have received his new and improved vaccination card.
The front part of the card shows the photo identity of the person, complete name, address, birthdate, gender, issuance date, and ID control number. While at the back part, detailed information of the first and second dose of the vaccination is shown. The details include the date of inoculation, vaccine used, and the name and signature of the vaccinator. The back part also shows the vaccination center’s name, ID, email, and contact number.
The typical vaccination card distributed in the Philippines is made of light paper material making it very much vulnerable to tear and damage unless the owner decides to have it laminated themselves. These cards are also highly susceptible to falsification as it is easy to forge and reprint.
Compared to this, CamSur’s vaccination card has security features to check its authenticity. A QR code at the back, when scanned, will be directed to camsurvaccine.com website displaying vaccination certificate of the person to verify the validity of the details. The Provincial Government is currently on the works for the accreditation of the QR code in VaxCertPh. Another security feature is, when checked under UV light, the card will show the logo of the province of CamSur. A certifying signature of Governor Migz is also at the back part of the card.
To these days with the pandemic still happening, having vaccination card is just as essential as having valid IDs given that establishments such as malls, restaurants, schools, hospitals, and offices, and even other provinces and cities, require proof of vaccination upon entry. It is used to prove that the person entering is safe from the virus and also to keep their people and staff safe from possible contact and spread of the disease.
As of press time, the province-wide distribution of the new CamSur vaccination card is currently underway.
