Gov. LRay conducts visitation in Garchitorena and Tinambac

PILI, CamSur –Elementary and high school students of the municipalities of Garchitorena and Tinambac received their educational assistance from the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur under the stewardship of Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte during the school and barangay visitations conducted August 18 and 19.

Gov. LRay personally supervised the distribution of the financial assistance involving more than 50 schools in Tinambac and 22 schools in Garchitorena, together with the food packs, slippers, school bags and barangay official uniforms during the visitation.

Mattresses, electric fans, flat irons, and kitchen showcases were also raffled out to participating school and barangay officials, which added excitement to the event.

The visitation also included free checkups, tooth extractions, and medicine provided by the Medical and Dental Mission conducted by the Provincial Health Office under the leadership of Dr. Gerardo Villafuerte.

Some 471 couples tied the knot in the Kasalang Bayan ’09 sponsored by the local government of Garchitorena in partnership with the Provincial Government of CamSur. Garchitorena Mayor Solon Demetrio solemnized the ceremonies with Gov. LRay himself as the principal sponsor.

The School and Barangay Visitation program is a continuing activity of the Province of Camarines Sur geared at addressing the needs of the people in CamSur in line with Gov.Lray’s advocacy of providing assistance to the barangays and bringing the government closer to the people, especially those in the hinterlands of the province./andujar/anntuy/mmec
