Bestowing blessings to the Couples

This is what Governor LRay Villafuerte seems to be doing (upper photo) as he approached the newly weds in a mass church wedding sponsored by the provincial government in the coastal municipality of Siruma, a customary act for the "ninong" to do after the wedding ceremony, in observance of the true Filipino tradition of marriage. Gov. LRay Villafuerte has stood sponsor, locally called "ninong", to thousands of couples who have availed of the free mass wedding officiated in the various parishes of the municipalities of Camarines Sur as part of the program of the governor in promoting the preservation as well as enrichment of family values. Aside from the customary best wishes and blessings, the couples received a sack of rice and cash gift from their ninong LRay as something to start with as they embark on a new episode in their lives.
