A Brief Moment with the Governor

Members of the Goa District Teachers Association (GODISTEA) were filled with delight and amazement as Governor LRay Villafuerte unexpectedly paid them a visit last January 11, 2010 while they were in the middle of a meeting. The young and energetic local chief executive, who was on his way to attend an important occasion, did not miss the opportunity to meet the teachers. Together with his running mate vice gubernatorial candidate Fortunato Peña, the governor consulted them on their immediate concerns and the needs of the students placed dressed. Since his first term Gov. LRay has always been espousing the advocacy on providing better quality education for his constituents especially those coming from financially incapacitated families thus paving the way for the latter's program on free education in public schools. fernandez/ arcilla/ mmec
