112th Independence Day Commemoration

A contingent from the PNP Provincial Command stood as honor guards (left photo) as officers and employees of the provincial government of Camarines Sur (photo right), together with some provincial officials and invited guest converged in front of Dr. Jose Rizal’s monument for the ceremonial wreath laying and the holding of a short program in connection with this year’s commemoration of Independence Day. Historian Dr. Danilo Gerona (inset left) in his speech underscored the significance of the occasion and admonished those present to be vigilant in preserving our sovereignty and freedom so as not to render the sacrifices of our heroes, including the hundreds of fallen Bicolanos in that same hallowed ground, futile. Similarly, Hon. Board Member Emmanuel Llaguno (inset right), pointed out that the sacrifices of our forebears have afforded us the freedom to choose, change and agree. fernandez/jrchavez/mmec
