Penetrating World-Class Circles

The CamSur Tri Team, organized after the historic Ironman 70.3 Philippines staged at the CWC last year and fully supported by Governor LRay Villafuerte, is now fulfilling its mission to developing world-class athletes by making deep inroads into and leaving lasting marks in international multi-sports competitions, lately in the last Tri King Long Distance Marathon participated in by over 200 elite triathletes from all over the world where a small-five-member contingent of the burgeoning CamSur Tri Team managed to snare four major prizes in two categories. CamSur will be the center of attention of the sporting world anew as Governor Villafuerte in cooperation with Alaska Milk Corporation and Asia Brewery bring to the province for the second consecutive year the Ironman 70.3 Philippines, the Asian segment of the world triathlon championships, on August 22 again to be played at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC) of the Provincial Capitol in barangay Cadlan of capital town Pili. Over 800 of the best multi-sport athletes in the country and around the world will compete for handsome prizes in a grueling contest of speed, strength and stamina combining almost two kilometers of swimming, over 90 kilometers of cycling and over 21 kilometers of running as shown in above photos from last year’s encounter. gbc/arcilla/mmec
