PILI, CamSur – Camarines Sur’s stature as a top tourist destination of the country was further reinforced when officials of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) chose the province as venue for their annual team building activity.

UNDP is the global network of the United Nations reaching out to some 166 countries on its mission to help and contribute towards solving problems like poverty, energy and environment and HIV/AIDS.
The visitors of Governor LRay Villafuerte arrived in the province last Wednesday, February 10 for their three-day retreat, led by Jacqueline Badcock, UN resident coordinator, UNDP resident representative and country director Renaud Meyer.

Held at the world-class Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC), the first day of the team activity focused on the objective, the agenda and on the theme, Re-visit UNDP Philippines Vision-Mission statement.

On the morning of the second day, the business session started with the discussion on the topic, “How far we have achieved and what needs to be done” while in the afternoon, the presentation of the United Nations Reforms.

The UNDP delegation toured the Consocep Resort at Mount Isarog and its environs.  In the evening of February 12, Governor Villafuerte hosted a Cultural Show to entertain the guests while taking their dinner at the poolside of CWC.  The group left Saturday, February 13 with very favorable impression of the province.  (stnieves/mmec)
