Philippine Judges Association holds Mid-term nat’l convention in CamSur
The province of Camarines Sur and the city of Naga will be venues for the 3-day Mid-Term National Convention of the members of the Philippine Judges Association (PJA) slated this week, kicking off on the 13th and to last ‘til the 15th of October.
Guest of Honor during the gathering of the “Sentinels of Law and Justice” which adopted the theme “A Judiciary Worthy of Public Trust” is Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato C. Corona. He is scheduled to deliver his message on Thursday, October 14 at the Capitol Convention Center, Pili.
Governor LRay Villafuerte, as host of the national convention, will deliver the welcome address for the visitors and members of the PJA who hail from various regions of the country.
Activities for the first day of the convention on Wednesday include a dinner tendered for the members of the PJA by Gov. Villafuerte at the Capitol Convention Center with a colorful dance presentation. A Masquerade Night follows.
Among the major agenda of the national convention will be the Dialogue with the Court Administrator and Deputy Assistant Court Administrators and the Overview of Rules of Procedures for Environmental Cases/ Criminal Procedure on Writ of Kalikasan. Supreme Court Administrator Hon. Jose Midas P. Marquez is also scheduled to deliver his message.
On the third day, Friday, October 15, members of the PJA will go on a tour and participate in a sports competition in the morning. In the afternoon, the delegation will be clad in their formal wears appropriate for the Regional Consultative Meeting at the Avenue Convention Center in Naga. Judge Antonio M. Eugenio Jr. , PJA President will deliver the closing remarks.
