Gov. LRay Villafuerte to receive citation during the 2nd Orgullo kan Bicol Awards

For excellence in local governance

Gov. LRay Villafuerte will be among selected leaders to receive a citation for excellence in local governance during the 2nd Orgullo Kan Bicol Awards slated on November 22, 2010 at Marriot Hotel Grand Ballroom.

The good news of Gov. Villafuerte’s nomination to this prestigious award was confirmed by the Committee on Awards of the Faithful Heroes Shining Times, Inc., headed by former Supreme Court Justice Leonardo A. Quisumbing.

Orgullo kan Bikol Awards is an initiative of the Faithful Heroes Shining Times, Inc, which aims to give due recognition to worthy and deserving Bicolanos who are instrumental in bringing honor and prestige to the Bicol Region.

Aside from the energetic governor who was cited for commendable performance in the field of local governance, other awardees from Camarines Sur are Secretary of Justice Honorable Leila De Lima for Government Service, Painter/ Artist Pancho Piano for Visual Arts, Lyn Abanilla in the field of Media and Honorable Nel Tijam for Judiciary.

Likewise, the late Senator Raul Roco is the recipient of the Posthumous Award for Government Service and Legislation.

Fourteen (14) other Bicolanos coming from other vie provinces of the Bicol Region are also recipients of various awards.   FERNANDEZ/MMEC
